Food Sociologist

There is no shortage of advise out there.  Unfortunately, most of it ends when the challenge of feeding your kids really begins.  You know what to feed your kids.  But how do you convince them to eat what you give them? And what about kids who won't eat?  Or those who won't stop? How can you end the struggle?

If there is one thing I know it's this: All parents worry about feeding their kids.  We start worrying when our kids are born and we keep worrying until they're grown.  Are they eating too little?  Are they eating too much? Are they eating the right foods?

You're not alone.  In my workshops and one-on-one sessions, I give parents the tools they need to teach their kids to eat right so they develop a healthy relationship with food.  And, I show parents how to ensure their children become adventurous eaters.

Stop struggling and start succeeding.  Learn to...

  • Deliberately and consciously shape your children's eating habits.
  • Identify why your children eat the way they do.
  • Manage events as they happen so unexpected treats don't ruin your plans.
  • Use taste and texture to teach your kids to eat a wide variety of foods.
  • Avoid the 3 most common ways parents inadvertently teach bad eating habits.
  • Teach your children how to try new foods.
  • Identify how your parenting style influences your children's eating.
  • Solve eating problems that arise at different developmental stages.
  • Know what to do instead of bribing and begging your kids to eat.
  • Consciously shape your children's relationships to food.

There are no sample menus to memorize, and no portions to measure, just a method for making food and eating choices that can be used with different children, at different times and in different situations.  In other words, I'll give you a realistic plan for living in the real world.

I work with parents in groups, and individually, either in person or on the phone.
